The Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is implementing its revised Campus & Facility Master Plan which includes a variety of changes to its campus, aimed at better fulfilling its mission of providing high-quality health care for area Veterans.  Since the campus is historically important, VA is seeking to make these changes with due respect for its historic buildings, landscape, and archaeological sites.  Such consideration is required by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, and related federal regulations.

In addition, the campus has been chosen as part of the Department of Veterans Affairs Buildings Utilization Review and Repurposing (BURR) Initiative, which provides housing for at-risk Veterans and their families.  At the Chillicothe VAMC, this includes rehabilitation of Buildings 2, 6, and 35.  In addition, new construction is being contemplated in some of the campus’ open space.
